Milled-in underfloor heating in Wageningen

Wageningen is 25 minutes from Arnhem, along the Rhine towards Rhenen. From the Benedenbuurt to Kortenoord we mill underfloor heating into existing floors: no loss of height, low-dust and often in one day. And in the new builds at Kortenoord and De Dreijen we lay the pipe before the screed is poured.

Homes and floors in Wageningen

Wageningen has a compact old centre (inside the canal) surrounded by the Benedenbuurt and Sahara with pre-war homes. On the ground floor we usually find a later-poured sand-cement floor — fine to mill — and wooden floors upstairs, where we fit Fermacell or Knauf boards and mill into those. Nude, Noordwest and Tarthorst are the 1960s–80s districts with a sand-cement screed on concrete: the ideal milling job.

Kortenoord, De Dreijen and the former WUR grounds have a lot of recent new build with anhydrite floors and concrete apartment floors. There we mill with adapted blades; for a new screed or extension we choose stapling, tying on mesh or studded panels. Because Wageningen has many well-insulated, energy-efficient homes, residents often combine underfloor heating with a heat pump — milled-in heating at 100 mm centres is the best basis for that.

In the student town too, anyone who wants to lose radiators and gain space chooses milling. The floor is walkable again the same day, and with direct dust extraction the home stays clean.
